Newgensales for Microsoft Teams

Last updated: October 8, 2026

With Microsoft Teams connected, the calls you book in Newgensales are created as Teams meetings on your own Microsoft work or school account, the join link goes on the calendar invite, and the Newgensales notetaker can join your lead calls to record, transcribe and coach.

Connecting

  1. Sign in to Newgensales and go to Account > Profile.
  2. In the Meeting Platform card, click the Microsoft Teams tile. If another platform is connected, Newgensales asks whether to switch; confirming disconnects the old one.
  3. Microsoft asks you to sign in with your work or school account and accept the permissions listed below.
  4. You come back to your Profile. The Microsoft Teams tile is marked as your platform and a row below it shows Microsoft Teams connected with your email. New lead calls you book now use Teams.

Personal Microsoft accounts (outlook.com, hotmail.com) cannot create Teams meetings this way; use a work or school account. If your organisation requires an admin's approval for new apps, Microsoft says so on the sign-in screen — send the request to your admin, then connect again. One connection per person.

Using it

  • Booking. Open a lead and click Book a meeting, or use New Booking on the Calendar page. When you book, Newgensales creates the Teams meeting on your account and puts its link on the calendar invite.
  • Joining. The meeting lets everyone past the lobby, so your customer and the notetaker are not kept waiting. You are the only presenter.
  • The notetaker. On lead calls, the Newgensales notetaker joins as a named participant, records the call and transcribes it. After the call the summary, next steps and deal details are on the lead. Some organisations have a Teams policy that holds unknown bots in the lobby — if the notetaker is waiting there, admit it.
  • Cancelling. Cancelling a booking in Newgensales deletes the Teams meeting it created and removes the calendar event.
  • Recording consent. Tell participants the call is recorded where the law requires it. The notetaker appears as a named participant in the meeting.

Permissions it asks for

  • Create and manage your online meetings (OnlineMeetings.ReadWrite): to create the meeting for a call you book, and to delete it when you cancel. Newgensales never changes meetings it did not create.
  • Your profile (User.Read): to show which account is connected.
  • Sign you in and keep you signed in (openid, offline_access): so the connection does not expire after an hour.

Removing it

  1. In Newgensales, go to Account > Profile, find the Microsoft Teams connected row under the Meeting Platform tiles, and click Disconnect. The stored Microsoft tokens are deleted.
  2. You can also remove it on Microsoft: myapplications.microsoft.com, or account.microsoft.com > Privacy > Apps and services, find Newgensales and remove it.

Meetings already created stay on your account. Bookings in Newgensales keep their links. New bookings use your calendar's own meeting link, or another platform you pick, until you connect Teams again.

Troubleshooting

  • "Need admin approval". Your organisation requires an admin to approve the app once. Forward the request; connect again once it is approved.
  • Connect sends you back with "Teams permission not granted". Accept all permissions on the Microsoft screen and try again.
  • "Use a work or school account". A personal Microsoft account was used. Connect again with your work or school account.
  • The notetaker is stuck in the lobby. Admit it. If it repeats, ask your admin about the Teams policy for external bots.

Data and privacy

Newgensales stores the Microsoft account email, the tokens needed to create meetings on your behalf, and the id and link of each meeting it created. Disconnecting deletes the tokens. What we do with recordings and transcripts is in the Privacy Policy. Questions: support@newgensales.ai or the support page. More about the product: All docs.
